15 DoFollow Blog Commenting Tips That Will Instantly Get Your Comments Approved

Admin, January 25, 2011

We all know that dofollow blog commenting is a great way of getting backlinks pointing to your website, which in turn ultimately boosts your website’s page rank and indeed improves your keyword ranking. We all also know how difficult it can be to identify high pagerank dofollow blogs for blog commenting. It therefore stands to reason that once identified, you should take all necessary steps to ensure your blog commenting achieves result by your comments being approved.

How do you increase the chances of your blog comments being approved? By taking the following steps:

1. Read all or scan a reasonable portion of the blog post you intend to comment on so that you are abreast with the contents and so you are able to make a reasonable blog comment.

2. Identify and target blogs whose content theme you are reasonably comfortable with and in respect of which you possess some knowledge and experience as a basis for making a reasonable comment.

3. Your comment must be directly related to the post you are trying to comment on and refer to or reply directly to the content of the post. This will make the webmaster know that you have actually read his post. As a result, general comments such as “Great post, will visit your site again”, “This subject is very interesting and you have explained it thoroughly” etc are indicative of spam comments and any experienced webmaster will immediately trash such comments.

4. Insert your actual first name in the name space as most webmasters do not like approving comments with only keywords inserted into the name field. To get SEO benefits, you can go ahead and use the keyword luv plugin so that your name can be inserted as “name @ keyword” or use a format such as “name | keyword” in the name field.

5. For some blogs, there is a space restriction for the name field and if you intend to gain SEO advantages here, you must pick either your main keyword (which is likely to be very short) alone, if that particular website allows such or you are restricted to using your first name alone but of course with backlink pointing to your website.

6. Search for dofollow blogs that were recently commented on. This considerably increases the chances of your blog comment being approved as some blogs are either no longer functioning or comments are closed on some old posts or the webmaster may not be inclined to accept new comments on these old posts.

7. Search for posts that are just published. This is similar to the above but not exactly so in that here, reference is to more or less real time posts which is best gotten through setting google alerts. As these posts are fresh, the webmaster is likely to be inclined to approving fairly well written comments unlike later on when comments on the blog post may have become saturated.

8. Search for blogs that use the “comment luv”, “keyword luv”, “top commenters” wordpress plugins. These blogs more than others are more comment friendly and your comments therefore have a greater chance of being approved.

9. For some blogs, you should not link to an unduly long url such that occurs with some inner pages. This is because some blogs regard such links as spam.

10. Do not make more than one comment on a particular blog per day. This is because some webmasters regard an attempt to do otherwise as an attempt to spam their blog with comments.

11. Use a true picture of yourself as your avatar i.e. get a gravatar. Most webmasters and indeed most sites generally look more favourably on a commenter who reflects his actual picture and regard such comments as more credible. He is thought not to have anything to hide unlike most commenters who hide behind “masks”.

12. Before making your comment, compliment the effort of the webmaster on the usefulness of the post. We are all human and a little massaging of ego does help to get your comment approved. Do not stop here however but go on to now make a direct comment on some particular aspect of the post, otherwise, stopping at merely massaging the webmaster’s ego will be regarded as spam by most webmasters.

13. Where you can make reference to another blog post, article or news item to buttress your comment, by all means please do, as you come out as highly informed this way and increase your chances of being favourably looked upon by the webmaster.

14. Your website should portray seriousness which can be depicted by good number of backlinks, fair PR level, reasonable volume of posts on your own blog etc as most webmasters first take a look at your blog/website via your link before approving your comment.

15. Search for blogs that have a good history of approving reasonably well written comments which you can deduce from previous comments on the blog as some webmasters are just difficult and unfriendly and no matter what you do, will not approve comments from those they do not know.

The DoFollow Blog Commenting Primer

Admin, January 24, 2011

Are you new to SEO? Do you need backlinks? One way you can get them is to comment on blogs that link out. These days many blogs link out, but not all link out without applying the nofollow attribute. Once the nofollow attribute is applied to your link, it no longer passes on the trust and reputation necessary for your website. Once the nofollow attribute is applied, the link is only good for indexing your website or page and click thru traffic that is browsing the blog.

The trick to benefiting from blog commenting as an SEO strategy is to find blogs that have not applied the nofollow attribute and that have moderators checking the comments manually. Comments that are auto-approved by the blog will be spammed relentlessly by spammers and any value that your link may contain will quickly and ruthlessly be diluted to a valueless state. So how can one find blogs that do not have the nofollow attribute applied? Simple. Use Google and search for the following:

“Add comment” Your Keywords
“Post comment” Your Keywords
“Write comment” Your Keywords
Your Keywords “leave a comment” / “leave comment”
Your Keywords “Notify me of follow-up comments?”+”Submit the word you see below:”
Your Keywords “Remember my personal information” + “Notify me of follow-up comments?”
Your Keywords “Notify me of follow-up comments”
Your Keywords “This site uses KeywordLuv”
Your Keywords “Enable CommentLuv”
Your Keywords “You can use these tags”
Your Keywords “Powered by BlogEngine.NET”
Your Keywords “Allowed HTML tags:”
Your Keywords “top commenter”

In each of the above, obviously you would replace “Your Keywords with your actual keywords of interest.

So how can you get your comments approved? Well, there is really only one way and that is to add value to the post and not look like a spammer. This can be done easily if you follow a few simple rules.

Rule Number One – Use Your Real Name. Nothing bespeaks spam like using a keyword as your name in a lame attempt to get a contextual link. This is something that can only be done if the commenter has a good reputation as a contributor to the blog. When commenting as an SEO strategy, use your real name, at least initially.

Rule Number Two – Read The Post. When commenting on a post, read it and make a comment about the actual post. One liners and short post that say things like “nice post” or “great blog” or something pathetic like that. Rest assured that these will be deleted. When posting, use the post tags as keywords in your comment so that the poster knows or at least thinks you read it. Add value to the post and page.

Rule Number Three – Use Good Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling. Comments that do not use good grammar, spelling and punctuation look spammy and sloppy. Trashy grammar, spelling and punctuation do not add value to the page. Whenever you comment on a blog, remember that you are acting as a representative for your company so you should present yourself accordingly through your comment.

Is Blog Commenting A Spamming?

Admin, January 21, 2011

Blog commenting is considered to be an important factor in SEO due to which you increase quality backlinks of your site. And if the blog is do-follow then it is more precious. So in the eye of SEOs, it is important to perform blog commenting with other SEO processes when you optimize a website for backlinks and traffic. First of all I tell you what is blog commenting?

It is a technique of link building in which you comment to any blog (related to your product/site) with your website’s link. This link is preferred to be inserted on the targeted keyword which is present inside your comment but also, some SEOs put it at the last of the comment (commonly called signature) because some blogs have signature option.

Is blog commenting a spamming or a kind of spamming? This question disturbed me too much. Because while performing this, our moto is always only just to put the link of our websites. We just read some lines of that blog and then comment it. Not only this, but I have seen a big kind of spamming too in blog commenting that a lot of people don’t comment smartly. They just fill their comment section with a lot of keywords with their website’s link. Some optimizers just post such comments that are totally on different topics. Take a look:

You can see in these comments that every one posted its comments with the keywords linked to their website. In the first one, you can see that this person must have an apparel shop because it put links on the keywords “sunglasses online”, “replica sunglasses”, “designer handbags”, etc. The second one put its signature on “mobility scooters” and “foley catheters” and the third one put his link on keyword “thesis help”. Now the strange thing is that the post on which these comments were added is related to stainless steel. Then what? You see it is the totally spamming.

Ok if I perform blog commenting smartly and in a right way. For example I am optimizing a website related to stainless steel and I am targeting the keyword “stainless steel pipe”. I search blogs related to that topic and start commenting. Some blogs are very big that contain too much materials and mostly if I have no much time to read it then I just read some lines and then comment with the keyword linked to my site. Then don’t you think it is a spamming? In that situation, what is the purpose of commenting? Just to put the link on our targeted keyword that causes increasing backlinks as well as traffic.

For knowing the clear answer of it, I asked that question to some Search Engine Optimization experts of major countries. I also discussed this question in different SEO forums. So who explained me the genuine clearity, I am sharing their views: Mr. Jason Valens from UK very nicely explained. He said, “Blog commenting isn’t spamming, but spamming blogs with comments is. If you’re watching the top blogs in your niches (and you should be, set up a google alert) then adding comments that contribute some value to the post (You know, something actually thoughtful) then that isn’t spam. Spamming comments does work in the short term (though this could start a debate as to if it only works in some markets, like the eternal ‘buy steroids’). But expect your site or page to take a kicking pretty quickly. If you’re willing to churn and burn it could be an effective short term strategy. Just keep your naughty and nice lists separate.”

Another SEO from Australia named “seodash” on Digital Point Forums gave a very short and brief answer. According to him, “Well if the comments are genuine answers and relevant to the topic of blog post, then I think it’s not a spam.” A reputed name in the SEO industry of Pakistan, Sheikh Haseeb Bin Najam explained, “If our link is adding a value to that blog than it is not spamming. For example if you have site of weight loss and you comment on the blog of weight loss then it is not spam because it is topic related. But you are putting a link of furniture there then it is spam. If there are 1000 linked comments and all are related to the topic and value added then it is also not spam.”

It is true that spammers are a lot. Quality and genuine links are in a very small quantity than spammers. To stop spamming, Google introduced the concept of “no-follow” links in all major free blogs like blogspot, wordpress, typed, etc due to which spamming comments don’t effect negatively on your blog. Mr. Paul on Warrior Forum said, “At any point in time, any blog comment can be looked at by a live person and determine that it is spam. Spam has taken on many meanings, unfortunately. I’d say 99.999999% of all blog comments, that include a link, are spam. They are there for no reason other than to get a backlink. Some think they can fake it, but does that mean it’s not spam? By including a high brow sentence relevant to the post, does that automatically mean it’s not spam? Or just not looked upon as spam? Spam is spam is spam. I don’t think google gives a hoot either way. That is, as far as taking names. The proof is the nofollow tag. If google could determine spam, 100% of the time, the need for nofollow goes away. But the nofollow does not mean spam. Just a way to lessen spam’s effect. I don’t think spam in this case is something google worries about.”

As a conclusion of my research on blog commenting, I can say that comments that are valuable for blogs are not spam. But due to irrelevant commenting and just putting the website’s link from majority of spammers, it is getting disreputable and negatively affecting on the working of genuine commenting too. So a danger is present that due to spammers, probably blog commenting will be winded up forever in the upcoming future.

Powerful Reasons For Using Blog Commenting To Increase Your Blog Traffic

Admin, August 12, 2010

If you have a blog, you want traffic. And one of the best ways to generate it is to comment on other blogs, particularly those in your niche.

The benefits are manifold:

If the blog you comment on has the DoFollow plugin installed, then you will get some search engine juice from the comment. One way to find these blogs is to Google for them. You just have to include the word “dofollow” and any other keyword or phrase you choose. You’re bound to find a few of them this way. A search for “dofollow blogs list” will return many results, too.

If you accumulate a list of these blogs and comment on them from time to time, you will certainly improve your traffic from search engines over the long term. Alternatively, you can just not worry about dofollow and top commentator blogs. Simply search for blogs in your niche and comment on those. Since the above mentioned plugins are increasingly popular, the law of averages means that you will eventually encounter some anyway.

Regardless of the SEO benefits that commenting gives, it’s still worth doing because it gets the attention of the owners of the blogs you comment on. Unless they have hundreds of comments every day, most bloggers read all their comments and look at the blogs of the commenters.

This is why writing really good, thoughtful comments is crucial. This will make them notice you in the first place, and then look at your blog. If they like your comments, and also what’s on your blog, then they are more likely to link to you at some stage, either as a link back in a post, or by putting a permalink in the side panel.

Blog Comments – Does it really pay to turn on blog commenting

Admin, August 9, 2010

Most blog comment software allows you to turn on or off blog comments.

And if you’re blogging to grow your business, you might be asking yourself this… does allowing blog comments on your blog add more zeros to your bank account?

I don’t think it does and I outline my reasons why below.

As a thinking-out-of-the-box internet marketer and host of a weekly business building talkcast, I THRIVE on getting feedback about what I say or write. My inbox gets a steady parade of new marketing ideas, critiques and suggestions on how to help with my broadcast. And I love it. Life without feedback would be a very lonely life.

But after analyzing the pros and cons of blog commenting, I’ve decided to block comments on my blog… here’s why:

Spam

Most comments come from spammers… either flat out spam, or spam thinly disguised as a legitimate comment. Either way, the vast majority of blog comments are worthless to my visitor.

With the prevelance of blog comment spam, you’re going to need to install spam prevention software. And that’s great. Programs like Aksimet are great at stopping blog comment spam. But some spam falls through the cracks and you’re going to invest time determining if the comment is legit or not.

Time

Keep in mind that every 10 minutes you spend playing cop with your blog comments is 10 precious minutes you lose writing for your blog. And writing content for your blog is going to attract a heck of a lot more visitors to your website than moderating your blog comments.

Dilution of SEO

While it’s true that blog comments give your post an added chance of getting featured in the search engines, I find most people who comment instead dilute the search engine optimization of my blog posts.

False Accusation

This is a tough one for me. Because I HATE censorship and love to comment on other blogs to warn others of a scam. However, competitors have been known to make up falsehoods out of thin air. And the last thing I need is a jealous competitor posting false accusations on my blog (and dealing with replying to it).

Legal Issues

Yes, there are laws to protect website owners of malicious and slanderous comments on a blog, but who wants to be hassled with a lawsuit? I don’t. That’s another HUGE and massive waste of precious time… time I’d rather use to grow my business.

Setup to Fail

Now I love to help people. It’s my achilles heel at times.  And when someone asks me a question, I’m thrilled to reply with an answer. I’ve never once backed down from the toughest questions.

With that said, allowing blog comments is a surefire way to suck a ton of time away from you — giving you less time to work on your marketing.

In most cases, answers to questions require large blocks of time (no matter how hard you try to keep it brief).

But here’s the biggest issue for me… the followup comment. More often than not, answering one question opens the floodgates to multiple followup questions. On one hand, you don’t want to be perceived as a jerk and ignore the followup question, but it’s unfair to your business to reply over and over again.

It’s for these reasons I’m confident that I’m making the right choice in closing blog commenting. I’d ask you to weigh in and give me your thoughts on the pros and cons of blog comments, but obviously my comments are closed. How ironic is that?

With that said, I do offer a direct way for people to contact me (via email and support ticket). I find this significantly slashes the time I choose to invest helping readers of my blog.

Natural Link Building with Blog Commenting

Admin, August 9, 2010

There are lots of natural link building techniques you can use to not only boost the page ranking of your site or blog but also get the much needed organic and targeted traffic needed to increase the revenue base of your internet-based business. Blog commenting and posting are some of the ways you can begin to naturally build links to your site or blog without stress. The immense possibilities and organic link building opportunities that abound in blog commenting aren’t enjoyed by many SEO experts because they only abuse the process and come back to complain.

The truth is the some search engine optimization experts or even most savvy internet marketers can be quite desperate sometimes. This usually leads them to use software where they are supposed to manually input some applications or take certain actions. One of the abuse of software application is through blog commenting. Most of the SEO experts are of the view that the more comments they make in different but relevant blogs, the more inbound links and utmost web visibility they achieve for their sites. While this has some elements of truth in it, the way and manner it is carried out goes a long way to determine its effectiveness and overall benefits.

When some internet marketers use the blog commenting software to post comments such as ‘GOOD POST’ to as many as 100 blogs at the click of a button, they would be expecting miracles to happen. This is quite ironical because this kind of post or blog comment is a bit useless and will bring back absolutely no good result at the end of the day. The truth is that these kinds of blog comment via the software are usually regarded as spam, which they are, actually.

A better way to comment on blogs and get the needed positive backlinks and exposure is by human blog commenting. This can be done more effectively if you are only commenting on the blogs in your niche especially those that are already ranking high in the search engines’ result pages at the moment. You should determine to only comment on the posts you have some valuable issues to discuss. This means that your blog commenting can only be effective if your comments are meaningful and carries beneficial contents. This will make other blog visitors to take another look at the link in your signature box and possibly click-in to read more in your blog or site.

You are also advised to write or comment in blogs with some personal touches. This simply means that you have to comment as if you are talking or discussing with your next door neighbor or friend. Make sure that you try as much as possible to use some of your targeted keywords while commenting so that most of your blog comments can be tracked by the search engines and ranked high in the result pages whenever such keywords are searched for. You should also comment on regular basis but try to be creative so as not to appear like spam.
