10 SEO Link Building Strategies YOU Can Use to Slap Google Around and Make It Your SLAVE

Admin, March 9, 2011

Have you ever wanted to learn a few sound seo link building strategies you can take to the bank, but didn’t know where to start? Are you still up to learning how to command Google to give you more Play off the Bench to start getting LASER-TARGETED Traffic Right Away. In this article, I have prepared 10 SEO Link Building Tip that will help you build more incoming links than you can handle.

Also, in this article, I am going to assume that you have a blog or a website that needs more attention than it’s getting. I’m also going to assume that you have the right keywords, description tags, and meta tags on your site that will give the search engine spiders more reasons to visit your internet property over and over again.

1. Blog + Bookmark- When I began my week, I make sure that I have a set schedule and plan in place. If not, it makes it very easy to get distracted and unfocused. This is the very art of mapping out a 90 day marketing plan so that you are not out of work:)

So, to start the linking building process, make sure you post to your blog at least 3-4 times per week. Immediately after each blog post, it will be a good idea to bookmark your work for some extra backlink flow. You can use a tool like Onlywire to automate the process.

2. Video Marketing- The second step you can take in your link building strategy is to cut a video of the content you just wrote or posted on your blog. If you are shy on video, that’s quite okay. I will be showing you in a later post how to post a video online without showing your face. I’m sure you will like that one. After you create your video, make sure you post it to Youtube and other video sharing sites.

You can use the Free service at TubeMogul to post your video to about 15 places at once or you can use Trafficgeyser to exponentially increase your results.

3. Article Marketing- One of my favorite strategies and link building process is article marketing. Here you goal is to create a 300-500 word article and post it on high PR sites like Ezinearticles and Betternetworker. I use a Free tool called the Freetrafficsystem to plaster my work out on different blogs, about 30 at one time, which gives man an instant 30 backlinks FREE

Since Youtube is being more searched these days than Google, it would be wise to create a keyword anchor link phrase with your video link to drive your keyword rich video up in the search engines.

4. Video Bookmarking- Another great strategy here again is bookmarking. After every video, I make it a point to share my video on high traffic places like Youtube, Twitter, etc. This will do nothing but give you more exposure that you deserve, since you’ve been working so hard right?

5. Share on BetterNetworker- Betternetworker is the place to be if you want to get Google love. I’ve seen many of my postings make it to the 1st or 2nd page of Google in 24 hours or less after posting to BN. This is a MLM & Home Business Community where many marketers and new people come to share and to get advice on home business and marketing activities.

6. Encourage Shares- With the rise of Facebook and Twitter, wordpress users have the privilege of using plugins that makes it easier to share their content to create a immediate buzz. Encourage your readers to share and retweet your content on their profile pages.

7. Hubpages- Another one of my favorites and an overlooked weapons is hubpages. This is another content sharing site where you can write about any topic you want with many different themes to make it stand out to your crowd. A great linking tip would be to take your same content, which you may want to rewrite it a bit, and submit it to this type of site. Google absolutely loves Hubpages.

8. Blog Commenting- Another great method you can use is commenting on other people’s blogs that are in your niche. Taking the time to give back always has it’s blessings. If you read or hear good content online, let the person know how they helped you and give them comment love. Many time, you will get a good fresh backlink pointing back to your website.

9. Forum Marketing- Forums are another great way to build links. The idea of forum marketing is not to push you deal, but to go in and give good advice. At the end of each tip you give, you can leave a signature link that points back to your site.

10. 10. Press Release- One of the best seo link building strategies when starting online is through a press release. With this particular strategy, you are able to circulate news worthy content to high authority sites for fast ranking and a BIG jump in the search engines.

How Google and Twitter Deal Impact on SEO

Admin, January 31, 2011

Google recently announced it’s deal with Twitter to include tweets in there search results (to be release in the upcoming months). This is in direct competition with the current Bing Twitter deal and raises several questions about how Google will treat tweets.

Google will apparently show relevant tweets from twitter that will be useful to viewers. I’m sure there will be a complex algorithm developed to do this as Google give an example of skiing conditions at your favorite ski resort as a place where twitter results will show up.

So not all result will include tweets from twitter. One thing they did not announce was exactly where these tweets will be displayed. From past additions to Google search results we can only image they will show up at the top of the results, such as where Google’s map listings usually show up or at the bottom of the search results like where related search query links show up. Only time will tell which it is.

This placement of tweets can have a significant impact on SEO. Think about it if twitter results appear at the top of the results pages then users might be more included to click on or just read the tweets rather than to click on a site. I’m assuming you will be able to click on some sort of link associated with displayed tweets.

That also brings up another good question. Will Google display links as click-able from tweets? If so this could be a fast track to getting your site on the top of Google. All you would have to do is tweet about relevant subjects that show up in Google and include a link back to your site. It sounds pretty simple but we’ll have to see once Google releases tweets in their search results.

How will this effect SEO..? You can read more from our blog on the subject, www.seosean.com/blog/twitter-tweets-in-google-search-results

A Great Compliment to Link Building Through Social Networks and Their Effect on Google SEO

Admin, January 22, 2011

With the growing number of Social Networks, and their enormous audience, we have identified a quick way to begin building links to your site which will in turn help your Google SEO efforts. Do you already have a twitter account, or a Business Facebook account? Both are great at creating extensive links to your site.

If you have not yet created a Twitter account, do so immediately. Find a name that relates to your product, idea or passion. If you have a website about apples, get a twitter name with the word apples somewhere. Begin by finding the highest ranked Twitter users by searching TwitterHolic, then click on the people they follow and look for members who have somewhat even number of followers to following.

This means that they likely have automated following, meaning that if someone follows them, they automatically follow you back. Just think of it this way, if 20,000 follow them, and they follow you back, now your Twitter network is 20,000 more strong.

Find 10, 20 or 100 members like this and you now have a very large network. The content of your message is very important as you want to attract new followers. Think of this process like recruiting. If you don’t have the right “pitch”, they are not likely to follow, so be informative. Making sure to provide information of value can be tricky. I have found easiest to always talk about things I am passionate about. It seems effortless.

After you have built a nice following, you can begin to send messages related to your product. I try to follow a simple rule, how many sales related messages am I willing to read before deeming that person a marketer and un-following them. A good place to start is 1 message about what I am trying to promote for every 10 non link messages.

Once you begin sending messages about your idea, website or product, make sure to include a link to it. Now just that think, if your Twitter network is 20,000 strong, that link now has gone to 20,000 Twitter pages, essentially creating 20,000 links to your site, product or idea. Do this on a regular basis and you won’t believe the results.

Does Twitter Affect SEO and Google Rankings?

Admin, January 21, 2011

My friends, the answer is yes.  If you have an old Twitter account, or worse don’t have one at all, it’s time to stop resisting and get on the Twitter bandwagon, because it can help your SEO rankings apparently.

Tweeting matters

A recent article by the editor-in-chief of Search Engine Land, Danny Sullivan stated that Twitter can impact your SEO and Google rankings, so you better get Tweeting.  Sullivan pointed out that:

Google assigns Twitter accounts a score.  The more authoritative the Tweeter is, the higher their score.  Therefore, if a highly ranked Tweeter links to your site, a trickledown effect will rank your site slightly higher.  The age of your Twitter account and how authoritative you are affects your score, and ultimately your ranking, in the eyes of Google.
Retweets also help the search engine understand that the blog or article in question is a trusted source of information, which results in higher rankings.  So, the more people who re-tweet your original link, the higher your site might climb in a Google search index.
If an authoritative person – potentially, that means you – tweets your link, Google views it as a trusted source of information.  So get your information out there by posting Tweets!

Maximize your Tweets

It’s important to make the most of your 140 characters.  So, here are a few things you can do to maximize your Twitter account and drive other Tweeters to your website.

Post relevant information.  People will be curious about your business, so take them behind the scenes, post Twitter only coupons, or share some tid-bits of information on upcoming promotions that only Twitter users would have access to.  This keeps followers coming back for more, resulting in more and more links to your site.
Don’t spam.  Twitter really frowns on this practice, so make sure you’re not spamming people to avoid being reported and potentially having your account shut down.
Make sure you’re maintaining your account.  Answer comments and interact with your Twitter followers.  A stagnant Twitter account will not help your Google rankings.
Don’t be afraid to retweet (or repost) something you find especially interesting.  Similar to inbound links, retweets help boost rankings, which means you’re moving up!
You don’t necessarily need to follow every person who’s following you, but you should be aware of who they are, and try to interact with them as much as possible.  Every follower is a potential lead or client for you, and can help push your Google ranking up by retweeting your posts.  So take advantage of them.  Treat them like gold and they will help you climb to the top of that search index page.

For the birds?

Twitter is clearly here to stay, and when used effectively can indeed help improve your Google and SEO rankings.  So, quit your bellyaching and get your Twitter account on track!  Your business could soar to SEO domination on the back of that little bluebird.  All you have to do is put it out there.

Optimum7 is here to help you get your Twitter account off the ground.  Contact us today to start ranking higher with Google through your Tweets.

The Power Of Social Networking In Achieving Top Google Seo Results

Admin, January 19, 2011

While links used to play a more important role in Google SEO, they still are very important. Using Social Networks can create a pool of very good, high quality links. We will detail a strategy to help you achieve great links and help your Google SEO Strategy.

When Search Engines began, especially Yahoo, they were nothing more than a compilation of links, which slowly grew into what is now known as the internet. As Search Engines evolved, so did their tools and abilities. Search Engines then moved to the crawler system, which as the name implies, is software driven web page scouring device, created to follow links from page to page, and web site to web site. These crawlers then added parsing features that analyzed entire pages, and websites. With the advent of Google’s PageRank algorithm, all this data was then given a numerical value and a ranking was derived.

Now you have Social Networking sites so large that they are considered secondary search engines from their sheer size. Twitter is the most powerful tool in creating a white had Google SEO link strategy, but nothing happens overnight.

The strategy is as follows. Get a twitter account with a username that relates to your site. Link it to your site, and begin following members.

Following the right Twitter members is crucial in your Google SEO link building strategy. Start by searching Twitterholic for members with the most followers, then look through their followers and begin following members whose following/followers numbers are almost even. This means that they are likely to automatically follow you if you follow them. If you get followed by someone with 5,000 followers, you then will have access to his/her 5,000 followers. You can probably begin to see the potential.

Begin by NOT sending links in your Tweets, simply talk about what you enjoy to do, preferably if it is of value to others. Over a 1 month period keep conversations interesting and keep building your Twitter network.

Twitter imposes a limit on how many people you can follow, which corresponds to 10% than your followers. So if you have 1,000 followers, you can follow 1,100 members.

Grow, grow, grow, and after about a month you can begin letting people know about your product. I prefer to use my entire web site URL rather than the shortened version available through TinyURL and such. Once your network is larger, each link potentially will reach thousands of people and Google will begin giving importance to your twitter page, which is linked to your site and most of the time it will index the links that end up on other member pages, created through your tweets.

Try it out, I guarantee you will have fun, while building your link assets.

This guide should give you a good starting point to help with your Google SEO efforts. Keep an eye of the next guide, which will help expand on the topic of Search Engine Optimization.

Take a look at our site which contains detailed information on Google SEO topics to help you get your site’s ranking in the top 10 Google Search Engine Results.

The Twitter Feedback Effect On Google Seo And Marketing Results

Admin, December 15, 2010

Twitter has quickly become a Google SEO Experts best friend for the simple reason of how quickly it can help you grow your audience. Don’t be left out in the back of the pack. It is often that companies are slower to adopt cutting edge web technology, but as a major soft drink company CEO pointed out while Twittering; Twitter provides them with instant access feedback to marketing campaigns, web advertising strategies and TV Commercials.

People simply love the fact that they can provide immediate feedback to companies who otherwise they may never be able to influence. This particular resource is quickly becoming the tool of choice for instant feedback. Now imagine this scenario, major soft drink company is about to launch a marketing campaign costing 50 million dollars, the research tells them it is great, so they begin launch. With Twitter, they can search chatter about their product, and get immediate feedback. Now say that campaign is NOT liked by the masses, it will likely be on Twitter. This allows them to stop the campaign, and save a few million dollars in the process.

This is the power of Twitter. When people want to voice an opinion, it is quickly becoming the number one place to do it. Without Twitter, major soft drink company may have spent their entire campaign budget and not known why it did not work as expected. The ability of Twitter as a marketing tool provides invaluable instant feedback to a company or individual.

The more you talk the more you build your following, just make sure it offers value. Without value, nobody will ever follow.

SEO Tips – It’s Not Just About A Top Spot On Google

Admin, December 8, 2010

For many companies, getting to the top of Google is the Holy Grail in their SEO strategy and how you get there is certainly a common question asked of SEO agencies.

It’s definitely not a bad starting point, but as with everything in life, it’s not quite as simple as that and isn’t the answer to all your online marketing prayers. Search has changed so much in recent years and there is a whole raft of pitfalls to watch out for as well as things to consider.

Food for thought: these days, YouTube is the second most searched engine, Facebook has more than 500 million users worldwide, LinkedIn has 60 million users, Twitter sees nearly 50 million tweets a day and Wikipedia boasts 16.9 million articles. Those are just a few of the sites that have an impact on your search results these days. Getting your site url top of the search listing is one thing and something that you can control or at least influence to a degree, but how about the results from social networks that reference your site, your company or your brand/products? Imagine your brand topping the search listings for your relevant keywords and underneath it a YouTube link to a video rubbishing your brand, or a facebook group of brand dissenters. For a user searching your services, it’s hard to resist seeing what other people have to say about your brand, particularly if it’s controversial and so that may very well be their first point of call rather than clicking on your own link.

That’s just one example of outside factors impacting your SEO strategy. Here are a few other things to bear in mind:

1. Content

Firstly, the good old adage of Content is King still rings true. All too often, I have seen solid SEO and PPC campaigns created with the right call to action that drive people to a good-looking site which doesn’t repeat the call to action, doesn’t offer what it promised in a search listing, or is simply too hard to navigate. All you get then is potential customers bouncing off the site. Creating campaign tailored landing pages is a good start, as is ensuring content is well written, relevant, original and regularly refreshed. Doing this will engage your readers and customers, make other sites and readers more likely to create links to your site (facebook like, addthis etc.) and in doing all of that help your SEO and traffic.

2. Social media integration and online reputation management

Building on what I talked about above, it is absolutely critical that social media isn’t just something that companies “dabble in” or get a junior to manage the content, because its in-vogue and they feel they should be doing “something”; not only are there huge dangers in that if the pages aren’t monitored and managed properly, but it also serves to waste valuable time and money unless it becomes an integral part of your search strategy.

First off, your social media pages, if properly optimized, will show up in your search listings. So, quality videos on YouTube to convey your brand message can be a great start, for example, as can a well-supported fan page on Facebook.

But secondly, and often more importantly, there is the issue of reputation management. Social media can and should be used to create a buzz around your brand. But, monitoring it is key. What you don’t want to see are disgruntled customers tweeting about your poor quality of service and if you do, you want to be able to manage it, respond to it and make sure your own search strategy keeps these sorts of posts further down the search log.

3. Local search

These days, locality can play a large part in people’s search habits. Despite the global nature of the web, many people still look locally to source products and services – not least those people conscious of their carbon footprint, or those wanting to support their local businesses. Google, in particular have responded to this with their local business results in search listings, which also allows for user reviews – another element to include in your online reputation management. Local search strategies are still an underused resource and in that sense a real opportunity to gain a competitive advantage.

5. Tracking and optimising

An advanced tracking and analytics strategy and approach will help guide, tailor and optimise your SEO. For example, if you run an ecommerce facility on your site, you should be tracking your click-throughs all the way from the search engine to the final purchase. That allows you to measure the cost per acquisition effectively and track when and where people are bouncing off your site – if it’s the minute they get there, it might be a landing page or content issue, if it’s part way through the booking process, it could be the cost, the offering or the difficulty of navigation. Either way, it allows you to tell what element of your online strategy needs tweaking.

Of course, there’s much more than this that goes into an effective SEO strategy, but it’s certainly a start. Watch out on my future blogs for more SEO tips.

Twitter and Google have a prospective deal that could affect SEO

Admin, September 2, 2010

There is currently a prospective deal between Google and Twitter. If the deal pushes through, posts from the social networking site would be displayed on search queries. This has many implications for search engine optimization (SEO) marketers.

According to reports, the two companies are now negotiating to create a feed that would show posts from the social networking giant.

Reportedly, Microsoft is also involved in a deal that would integrate a full feed from micro blogs to the search engines.

Chris Thomas—a SEO expert—says that the deal will change the approach of SEO marketers, because Google would have access to a huge amount of web pages, which will bring more competition in the search market.

Thomas also said that a deal between Google and Twitter is logical, because Google has been responding to Twitter’s real-time search capabilities already.

He explains: “Google has responded to the real-time search thing by speeding up its indexing capabilities, but it’s just not quick enough to keep up with the likes of Twitter which has millions of tweets. Google robots can’t index everything and they need something like this to help.”

He continues: “My gut feeling is that to have this sort of deal there would need to be some sort of staticness or relevance to the tweet feed, because otherwise you’d just be getting spammed by millions of random tweets. If you were doing some sort of SEO strategy you’d need a tweet to your site if someone searched for you, that sort of thing.”

The prospective deal could cost Twitter several million dollars.

So far, executives from all the companies have not made any formal comments and statements regarding the prospective deal.

SEO – Google Devaluing Sitewide Links

Admin, September 1, 2010

I was reading through the blog of Matt Cutts, one of the head engineer’s at google and a very adamant blogger. He talks a lot about SEO and changes to Google’s algorithms along with the normal personal blog topics like personal info and video games.

I was doing some SEO research for a new client’s website and I was looking into evidence for the devaluation of sitewide links. A sitewide link is a link on every page of a single website. In the past sidewide links were great for SEO, still are, but they are becoming less effective on Google. Matt particularly comments on google’s devaulaing of sitewide links in a few posts. From my experience, on older sites if you have a large amount of other links, and you get say a link on 50% of pages on another websites Google will count them all as links and this will be a bit more valuable then say a single link, but for a new website, avoid sitewide links on Google. If you go from having a few links to having a bunch of links all from one website it’s appears that Google will completely devalue those links because they appear to have been paid for and one of Google’s current crusades is to cut down the power of paid links.

Currently buying and selling links on the “black market” is one of the major and very important tactics of modern SEO. You build a good site, optimize for the search engines, be creative, try to get as many links as possible and then buy the rest to give you that “push” above the competition. Although Matt talks about how they won’t help you, I believe a lot of this is wishful thinking, or a prediction of the near future. Currently as long as the advertiser doesn’t label your link with a title link “advertisement, sponsor, link partner” etc, the link will still count, especially if they include it in the body of their content with normal anchor text. Of course you’d better be ready to pay a pretty price for that service, because they’ll actually be sending you some of their traffic and promoting your product as opposed to just providing a link for SEO.

One interesting thing to note from Matt Cutts. He rementions the rel=”no” tag. Again for reference this is the tag that you can add to your links to have them not pass on pagerank. Now youre first question may be “why would anyone want to stop a linking from passing pagerank of relevancy”.

There are a bunch of creative answers for that one, but at the basic level this was designed for bloggers who could reduce the power of links contained within blog comments in order to discourage comment spammers. Matt cutts recommends adding rel=”no” to any links you sell. Now if I was going to sell a link to a poker site or a bad neighborhood. This might be a good idea as to not hurt my relevancy in google, but if a website had a similar topic, and was very legitmate, I’ll get a lot more money and they’ll get a lot more benefit from a regular intact link, and if I hide it correctly, google will never be able to tell It was paid for it. Especially if for an additional fee orcourse, I added a page to my blog or to my site describing wha the other website was and why I was linking to them, but that’s all hypothetical.

Right now adsense is my only way to monetize this website and it isn’t paying too well, but then again I just launched this redesign and with some hard work I should be able to dramatically incrase my traffic levels, hopefully enough to earn a nice monthly check from Google.

Summary of two different SEO issues mentioned here:

1. Google devaluing site wide links (links from the same domain or website)
2. Google devaluating paid links
