SEO Tips – Link setting
SEO Tips – Better Link Setting
Setting links to your site is one of the most important tasks you undertake in bringing your site up to the top of the search engine rankings. Encouraging other sites to provide a link your blog or website is an exercise in relationship building requiring many hours of hard work – preferably some each day. Otherwise, you can run into serious burn-out in trying to grow your site all at once.
Links are more valued if they come from highly ranked and high traffic sites in your genre. In other words, “Consultants” links would be more highly valued on business consulting sites than on social ones. So just finding relevant websites or blogs upon which to comment are difficult enough. There is no easy or quick solution to this process; one must just keep fishing around using the search engines, reference links, links to other sites, etc. In short, it takes a great deal of reading and looking for link building opportunities.
Once you’ve identified a good place to place a comment or link, the issue of what to say always arises. Remember that the same rules that apply to presenting information on your site or blog also applies to leaving back links and comments on other sites. Key elements are then:
Relevancy Value Keyword-containing (comments or observations should at least contain your keywords)
Relevancy:
Creativity helps in finding relevant sites. The general rule though is to identify a website that is relevant to the subject matter on your blog or page. This task is made more difficult because many niche or micro niche areas are simply too small to have many immediately relevant sites. Therefore, develop a Fallback Plan.
A Fallback Plan is simply an expansion of your original subject matter to areas that may be tangential or partially related to it. For instance, a consultant specializing in road engineering or bridge construction will soon run out of places to post links and comments. He would then need more places to get his message out. The Fallback Plan then expands the types of blogs or sites that might provide some value for his linking efforts.
A good standard rule is then to closely examine single keywords within your keyword string to search for separate blogs. If “consultant” is a keyword, there are many small business consultant blogs that might be able to provide at least some degree of relevancy. Think carefully and creatively about your keywords and look for opportunities that might be “one-offs” from your original targeted type of site. Searches for “contractors” or “consultants” yield multiple pages that might not be directly related to your type of business, but the might be somewhat relevant to a broader definition of your industry. Professional associations and newspaper articles relevant to your topic are also useful places to look for opportunities, but these, too can be few and far between.
Value:
This seems like a ‘no-brainer’ but try to avoid the “Thanks for the Post” message. No one really reads them. Contribute something meaningful. After all, folks reading the comments might be attracted to the wisdom of your comment and be inspired to click on the corresponding link. Your comment is an invitation to to other readers to visit your site, so provide them with a reason to click.
Adding value is frequently difficult. Your comment may just confirm a point made in the body of the blog post, but of course this requires reading and understanding what the author is trying to convey. Offering your own perspective on the author’s point – or telling a quick story – is a good way to grab reader attention and convey your own point and value.
Keyword-rich:
This is actually a fairly simple technique. Each blog comment requires one to provide a screen name. Just use your keywords or your page title in the screen name. In our street-paving consultant example, he could use something like “paving consultant” as his screen name and provide the URL to his site. This would then (hopefully) set the link to include parts of his keywords in both the screen name for the ink as well as in the URL. This makes Google happier as it will understand the content and value of the link.
Even with these techniques, there is no substitute for hard work and for doing your homework. Reading, setting links, reading some more and contributing value to the community is not easy nor is it quick. It can take weeks of this to start generating return traffic, value and business. There simply is no quick way – no matter what product claims are out there – to jump to the top of Google without hard work.

Social bookmarking became popular as a tool to share your favorite websites with others on the internet. However, the growth of ecommerce over the last few years has meant that almost all elements of the internet have been commercialized to a certain extent. So, it’s no wonder that social bookmarking too is being used as a way to create links to your website, easily and that too for free. There are a lot of websites that allow you to use social bookmarking for link building, but you can only use them to enhance your website’s popularity and page ranking, if you know how to use social bookmarking.
Here are some secrets to using social bookmarking that you may be interested to know:
1. There are lots of sites, but it is not advisable to join every one of them. The key is to join the most popular ones, which can provide you some useful back-links to your site. Signing up is a fairly easy process and so you can start using social bookmarking in quick time.
2. The key is to create ‘deep links’. You can create links to the internal pages of your website instead of just putting the link to your homepage in every social bookmarking site. This can be effectively done by means of submitting relevant content and blogs to these sites.
3. Most of these sites allow you to set up a profile. Use this opportunity to place at least one link along with anchor text in the profile. This can improve the overall value of your link considerably. If a site allows you to place more than one link then it’s even better!
4. In order to get maximum mileage out of social bookmarking, interlink your social profiles on various sites. This type of link benefit is also known as ‘link juice’. In order to utilize link juice, you can avoid sites which use ‘nofollow’ tags and other search engine optimization barriers, which stop you from interlinking your profiles.

? Digg.com: this site provides you the opportunity to place multiple links accompanied by anchor text in your profile. You can also submit your articles here and gain popularity among other members. In due course you can gain many links too!
? Technorati.com: your blogs will get picked up by this site but you won’t get the benefits of anchor text. You also have to add a code to your website in order to be able to get a link.
? Google: If you have a gmail account, you can make it work for link building too! Don’t be surprised because, Google allows you to add links to your homepage as well as internal pages.
? Mister-Wong.com: this is another immensely popular social bookmarking site that allows you to add multiple links and anchor text.
Now that you know these secrets to using social bookmarking for link building, you may be raring to go and try them. So, why wait any longer?

A Great Compliment to Link Building Through Social Networks and Their Effect on Google SEO
With the growing number of Social Networks, and their enormous audience, we have identified a quick way to begin building links to your site which will in turn help your Google SEO efforts. Do you already have a twitter account, or a Business Facebook account? Both are great at creating extensive links to your site.
If you have not yet created a Twitter account, do so immediately. Find a name that relates to your product, idea or passion. If you have a website about apples, get a twitter name with the word apples somewhere. Begin by finding the highest ranked Twitter users by searching TwitterHolic, then click on the people they follow and look for members who have somewhat even number of followers to following.
This means that they likely have automated following, meaning that if someone follows them, they automatically follow you back. Just think of it this way, if 20,000 follow them, and they follow you back, now your Twitter network is 20,000 more strong.
Find 10, 20 or 100 members like this and you now have a very large network. The content of your message is very important as you want to attract new followers. Think of this process like recruiting. If you don’t have the right “pitch”, they are not likely to follow, so be informative. Making sure to provide information of value can be tricky. I have found easiest to always talk about things I am passionate about. It seems effortless.
After you have built a nice following, you can begin to send messages related to your product. I try to follow a simple rule, how many sales related messages am I willing to read before deeming that person a marketer and un-following them. A good place to start is 1 message about what I am trying to promote for every 10 non link messages.
Once you begin sending messages about your idea, website or product, make sure to include a link to it. Now just that think, if your Twitter network is 20,000 strong, that link now has gone to 20,000 Twitter pages, essentially creating 20,000 links to your site, product or idea. Do this on a regular basis and you won’t believe the results.

The Art of SEO Link Building is Finally Getting Interesting
This white paper has been prepared by Tug. Tug, is a Search Engine Marketing specialist agency, based in Shoreditch, London.
Search Engines have evolved into a new consumer, communications and marketing channel. Google, Yahoo and MSN serve 213 million searches a day.
In fact, 9 out of 10 internet surfers use a Search Engine to start their internet journey. Therefore, if your website doesn’t have visibility in the engines, you are missing significant volumes of traffic.
What is Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)?
Search engine optimisation, or SEO as it’s commonly known as, is an online marketing strategy that involves designing, writing and coding your entire website with the intention of enabling search engines to index your site easily and efficiently. The sole aim and objective is for it to rank higher for keywords relevant to your business. Optimising a website and building link equity, are critical to gaining visibility on the organic or natural (left hand side) of a search engine results page (SERP).
Two Parts to SEO: On Page Optimisation and Off Page Optimisation
SEO, is done in two stages, known primarily as on page and off page. On page involves the website itself and fundamentally evolves around the design, build and copy laid out within the actual site. Off page relates to building link equity for your site through what is referred to as, Link Building. The latter is basically about gaining 3rd party exposure of your website. Both activities are necessary to improve a site’s position in the engines’ Natural Listings, for relevant searches.
Two Types of Link Building: Passive and Active
Passive Linking
Traditional link building to create 3rd party exposure and to build link equity has concentrated on passive linking. We define passive linking as the creation of links that will passively stay linked to your site, waiting for a spider to index them. This includes paid link directories and reciprocal linking. With a new website one should still always starts by laying a foundation of links within general and vertical specific directories. The next step would be to develop a base of article submissions, using white papers or PR stories. However the next step in your link building strategy has become much more interesting as there are so many valuable new ways to link build such as active link building.
Active Linking
Active link building is creating links that could spawn the creation of new links through active human interaction. Leaving comments on a relevant industry blog with a link back to a pertinent white paper on your site would be an innovative way to drive engine spiders as well as humans (consumers or expert influencers) to your website. Many forums allow links back to your site within conversations. Keeping the conversation going on several forums and blogs with a good Page Rank is a great way to practice active link building. An industry has also sprung up around the creation of Facebook and Myspace profiles. If kept up to date with relevant, rich content and value add links back to your site, this is another strong form of active linking.
Passive Link Building
• Free / paid directory submission
• Article and news submission
• Press release distribution
• Reciprocal linking
• Video & Image submissions
Active Link Building
• Forum Threads
• Blog Comments
• Corporate Blogging
• Social Network Profiles
• Link Baiting
Link Building is getting more Creative due to the coming of Universal Search
Google has been experimenting with the look of its results page as well as the types of results it provides for a specific search. The next version of Google will look a bit like the latest version of www.ask.com. Go check it out. When you type in ‘Fraggle Rock’ it not only lists relevant websites, but images of the children’s television show characters as well as other interesting narrower searches and other related children’s TV shows.
Google calls it Universal Search. In the not too distant future when you search for Madonna you will be served listings of Madonna sites, Madonna photos, links to buy Madonna tracks, latest news articles about Madonna, you tube videos of Madonna – all served on the same Google SERP. This is why link building has become more interesting over the last 18 months.
Google is up weighting the value of new forms of links as they index not only websites but all the available content, videos, music, images, news etc. that they will need to populate their new Universal Search SERPs.
Submitting rich videos with the correct file description, to video directories can have a great effect on your link building results. You can also place images, which are named in relation to your meta and with links back to your site, on photo sharing sites. Fresh news also has a high value as Google prepares for Universal Search. And of course up to date blogs, forums and web 2.0 sites are high on Google’s list of content providers for their new SERPs – therefore active links from these sites are very valuable in the newly invigorated world of link building.
For examples of Active and Passive link building please see the case study below of a successful ongoing campaign developed and managed by Tug’s team of SEO professionals.
Search Engine Optimisation Case Study: www.mrpaparazzi.com
Problem:
• Celebrity blog, Mr Paparazzi.com was launched in November 2007 into the competitive online gossip arena.
• Backed by Darryn Lyon’s celebrity photo agency Big Pictures, Mr Paparazzi.com had the largest photo database in the UK, but no traffic
• The website had no visibility on any page of the major search engines
• Mr Paparazzi.com needed a cost effective way to drive high volumes of awareness traffic to ultimately monetize the new property
Solution:
• From launch, Tug developed a PPC campaign focussing on driving cheap traffic from the Google content network.
• In addition, the site was optimised for the keywords: Celebrity News, Celebrity Gossip, Celebrity Videos and Celebrity Photos – the most searched for keywords in the vertical
• Tug worked with the development team to optimise the content and coding of the site, as well as improve the content management system, to manage the optimisation of daily posts.
• In January, Tug started link building. The first 2 months were spent laying a foundation of links in general and celebrity directories.
• In the following months Tug backed this up with pr and celebrity article submissions, posts of fresh news on news feeds, links with other celebrity blogs and discussions on relevant forums. Exclusive videos were also posted on video directories, baiting people to come to the site for more.
• Due to active linking these links were spread by interested parties and resulted in increased exposure and even more good quality links.
Results:
• After 5 months Mr Paparazzi.com had a top 5 position on Page 1 of Google, Yahoo and MSN for all targeted keywords
• Over 60% of the site’s traffic comes from Tug’s Search activity
• Month on month direct traffic is growing steadily showing that users who found the site through search are now coming of their own accord
• By using only PPC and SEO to build traffic, in less than 9 months, Mr Paparazzi now boasts over 6 million page impressions a month! It is now viable to sell advertising and monetize the site.

Feature Of Seo Link Building Tactics
It’s well known throughout the SEO industry that quality one-way links are the lifeblood of your rank building strategies. And while quality is certainly an important factor here, so is quantity. There is a myriad of different way to gather these links, some of them ethical and proper, and some of them are less so. The article will cover three of the more reliable and consistent means to develop those one-way links.
The first SEO tactic is Article Marketing. This one has been around for a while, but is still a valid method for obtaining links. The process works by first writing an article that is somehow beneficial to the community at large. for visit detial:-www.offline-promotion.com.What this means is that you must not write a lot of self-promotional drivel. You have to write something that is legible and valuable.
Once the article is written you submit it to various sites around the net. These sites make the article available for others to reprint on their own sites which will, in turn, continue to increase the number of links to your site.
There are some old tricks here that need to be avoided as well. There are a lot of claims by companies that they can automate both the writing and submission processes. However, subscribing to these systems really just makes you that annoying person that spams the submission sites with pages and pages of gibberish. You never want to be that person.
Article marketing as part of your SEO strategies, then, can be a strong foundation, a way of building up a constant stream of new and valid links. And maybe even some traffic.
The next link building tactic is to follow in the steps of your competition. This begins with your keyword research (which should have happened at the beginning of your SEO campaign) and research into what your competitors are targeting. Then you can discover where their links are coming from. And once you’ve accomplished that task, you can seek out a link from them as well.
Again, you have to be careful and avoid certain behaviors. First, don’t just spam-email a number of vaguely related sites. These requests just end up in the junk email pile, if they don’t seriously annoy the site manager first. Second, don’t beg. Give them a real reason to want to link to you, and it will happen. By offering something of value to the community you are targeting you can naturally encourage the others to link to you just as they did to your competition.
The third SEO link building tactic is to use blog comments. Community is becoming more and more important in the online and Internet marketing worlds for more detial:-www.seo-prediction.com.Not only should a company maintain a blog, but they should actively follow other blogs in their industry as well.
In this link recruitment tactic, however, the links should actually be considered a secondary benefit. Just like asking for links, you should be honestly adding something to the conversation at hand. And that means you cna’t just jump from blog to blog leaving comments like “great post” or “U R so SMRT.” When you leave comments like that you are not fooling anyone. And you might just earn the annoyance of the blogger who could decide to delete the worthless comments.
Other comment etiquette includes always leaving quality comments, i.e. Spelling errors and grammar mistakes won’t endear you to potential visitors. When you fill in the name field you should not stuff it with keywords. This is obvious spam. And when you do include a link, use the URL field. That’s what it’s there for. And just like articles, trying to post the same-but-slightly-different comment again and again or across multiple blogs will get them deleted by most bloggers.
By employing these methods consistently in your SEO campaign you can begin to increase your rankings and develop a strong reputation in the online realm.

Natural Link Building with Blog Commenting
There are lots of natural link building techniques you can use to not only boost the page ranking of your site or blog but also get the much needed organic and targeted traffic needed to increase the revenue base of your internet-based business. Blog commenting and posting are some of the ways you can begin to naturally build links to your site or blog without stress. The immense possibilities and organic link building opportunities that abound in blog commenting aren’t enjoyed by many SEO experts because they only abuse the process and come back to complain.
The truth is the some search engine optimization experts or even most savvy internet marketers can be quite desperate sometimes. This usually leads them to use software where they are supposed to manually input some applications or take certain actions. One of the abuse of software application is through blog commenting. Most of the SEO experts are of the view that the more comments they make in different but relevant blogs, the more inbound links and utmost web visibility they achieve for their sites. While this has some elements of truth in it, the way and manner it is carried out goes a long way to determine its effectiveness and overall benefits.
When some internet marketers use the blog commenting software to post comments such as ‘GOOD POST’ to as many as 100 blogs at the click of a button, they would be expecting miracles to happen. This is quite ironical because this kind of post or blog comment is a bit useless and will bring back absolutely no good result at the end of the day. The truth is that these kinds of blog comment via the software are usually regarded as spam, which they are, actually.
A better way to comment on blogs and get the needed positive backlinks and exposure is by human blog commenting. This can be done more effectively if you are only commenting on the blogs in your niche especially those that are already ranking high in the search engines’ result pages at the moment. You should determine to only comment on the posts you have some valuable issues to discuss. This means that your blog commenting can only be effective if your comments are meaningful and carries beneficial contents. This will make other blog visitors to take another look at the link in your signature box and possibly click-in to read more in your blog or site.
You are also advised to write or comment in blogs with some personal touches. This simply means that you have to comment as if you are talking or discussing with your next door neighbor or friend. Make sure that you try as much as possible to use some of your targeted keywords while commenting so that most of your blog comments can be tracked by the search engines and ranked high in the result pages whenever such keywords are searched for. You should also comment on regular basis but try to be creative so as not to appear like spam.

Blog Comments For Link Building or Reputation?
You’ve seen them… those spammy blog comments touting the benefits of herbal Viagra or acai for weight loss. To ensure that hyperlinks would have no SEO value when people left these types of spam comments on certain blogs, HTML NoFollow tags were created by Google in 2005. Any blog comment containing a link that contains the NoFollow attribute does not get any credit when search engine rankings are decided. Many websites and blogs are now using the NoFollow attribute by default to prevent spam comments from being made although sometimes human moderators are still used.
DoFollow blogs do NOT use the NoFollow tag. When people comment on DoFollow blogs and leave a link, that link has SEO value. As such, webmasters and spammers seek out DoFollow blogs so they can leave hyperlinks with anchor text containing their target keywords. It’s easy to find DoFollow blogs by doing a Google search. There are also many tools out there that help you find DoFollow blogs and generate hundreds of generic comments to leave on them. Moreover, services exist that post hundreds of comments with links on DoFollow blogs. Many webmasters and marketers jump on DoFollow blog commenting as an opportunity for link-building because it is cost-effective and easy. However, are the long-term results worthwhile?
The Link-Building Power of DoFollow Blog Comments
When you comment on hundreds of relevant DoFollow blogs, there are certainly SEO benefits. However, it seems that so many webmasters and marketers are desperate for links and forget to take a look at the big picture. The immediate search engine ranking benefits of dropping comments on DoFollow blogs are nice but the long-term benefits of leaving thoughtful comments and connecting with bloggers is far more beneficial as a link-building tactic in the long run.
When you give it some thought, leaving comments on DoFollow blogs may not require you to invest any money but it certainly demands your time. And because your time is essentially money, it’s a good idea to use it wisely and get the highest return for your investment. Rather than just looking at commenting on blogs as an easy way to build links, you ought to use it to your full potential. First off, you must get rid of the narrow mindset that you can only comment on DoFollow blogs. Comment on both DoFollow and NoFollow blogs. Focus on finding blogs that are relevant and popular in your niche rather than worrying about whether they are DoFollow or NoFollow.
The ultimate goal in blog commenting should be to attract direct links to your site from popular bloggers because of your knowledge and reputation. This will have far more power because it will drive droves of targeted traffic to your website.
In essence, commenting on hundreds of DoFollow blogs may offer immediate SEO benefits but when you consider how time-consuming it can be, it may be more worthwhile for you to actually read blogs in your niche and leave thoughtful contributions in the comment section. Ideally your comments would offer helpful information to the blogger and his or her readers.
So there you have it. Consider commenting on blogs whether they are DoFollow or NoFollow with the aim of attracting direct links and reputation. In the long run this tactic will provide you with far more benefits, SEO and otherwise.

How to comment on blog for getting maximum back link in minimum time
Admin, February 21, 2011
Back links are playing very important role for Search Engine positioning & Page Rank calculation & there is a lot of ways to collect back link, some peoples are using directory submission, social book marking, article submission, press release, forum posting, search engine submission & blog commenting. This all way is used for generating traffic on a website & for generating back link as well.
I think that blog commenting is very efficient & easiest way for collecting maximum number of back links in minimum time period, I have already use this technique for collecting back link & I have notice some points are there and if you can keep that point in your mind then definitely you will get maximum back link, now I am explaining you everything in next paragraph related to how to comment on a blog so that comment will approve by blog owner in a short time.
Just stop your comments like “Thanks for sharing it” and “I like it very much” etc . Just make planning strategy for commenting & you need to submit your comment only in blogs which have do follow attribute. Comment only on pages that have a good page rank so you can take a benefit for link juice back to your site. Comment with different –different keywords & anchor text so you can get a link on that keyword & take advantage on that. Basically anchor text tends to textual content on a link. Comment consistently means regularly visit that blog & comment on different posts because Google likes to see steady increasing and regular consistent growth in back link that shows your site is naturally increasing pace.
Some another ways I want to discuss with you & that are use for smart commenting & please keep following some more points for blog commenting like use only do follow blog directory for find out another blogs you can comment on where you will get back link.
